Originally from Indian Pad:
An 11-year-old boy has hair growing all over his face and body, a rare medical anomaly, and doctors say that laser treatment or plastic surgery is the only way out. Prithviraj Patil, son of a well-to-do farmer in Sangalwadi near Sangli, suffers from a rare medical anomaly though he is otherwise like any normal child.

For every person afflicted with a (non-health-effecting) anomaly like this, there are likely several people in the world who would gladly leave their life to have it.
It bothers me that they are treating this poor kid like he’s some kind of freak. I say get it styled and dye and/or bleach cool patterns into it. Work with what you’ve got.
And what if his face is just hideous? After laser treatment there’s no going back to cute and furry.
And then there’s the scientific curiosity in me asking what other, possibly desirable, traits go along with the genetics that make this happen? Does his body produce vitamin D without the benefit of a tanning effect? Does he possibly have the ability to produce vitamin C like most mammals but not most humans? Is his immune system stronger?
Come on, fur is only skin deep. Kid probably has a depth of personality that couldn’t be touched by all of California put together.
